Fall Hopland Passport 2011 13) Jaxon Keys

Jan 17, 2012 by

The Jaxon Keys tasting room is in a beautifully restored farm house that sit atop a hill that has the most stunning views of all the tasting rooms in Hopland. The view is available from the wrap around porch and from inside, as the windows overlook the valley, too. The tasting room staff is as nice, knowledgeable and hospitable as you would expect. And the porch is the perfect location for the down home music that reverberates through the valley during the frequent events.

Jaxon Keys is the only winery in Hopland (to my knowledge) that has a brandy still. The still and brandy tasting used to be a part of the Passport experience, and a stunning one it was. The still is a huge copper configuration of a bowl shaped tank, pipes and dials that gleam with confidence at the brandy it creates.

Though no longer a part of the Passport experience, Jaxon Keys still produces some exceptional brandy with their fine selections of wines. Stopping in the Jaxon Keys tasting room is a chance to put your feet up and drink in the beauty of the valley as you sip their wine.
