High Valley Releases Two New Wines
High Valley Winery celebrated the release of two new wines with a party on Saturday, April 24th at their tasting room in Clearlake Oaks, CA which was catered by Cache Creek Catering of Lakeport.
The first wine is a 2006 High Valley Cabernet Sauvignon that was paired with mini-chocolate cupcakes created by Patti of Padikakes of Lakeport. Patti said that she put a touch of chili pepper in the flowers to add some depth to the recipe.
The second wine was a 2007 Heart of the Mountain Pinot Noir. This wine is produced in Santa Cruz at a property formerly owned by Alfred Hitchcock. The Pinot Noir is totally hand bottled, hand corked and hand labeled. Their story is written here. Cache Creek Catering paired the Pinot with both a wonderful BBQ’d tri-tip roast with Shannon’s signature rub and with an array of authentic Japanese fare courtesy of Kathy Suzuki.
As always, the trip to the High Valley Winery tasting room was a lot of fun. Bobbie and Dustin Brassfield are consummate hosts and all of their guests had a great time.
The final treat of the day was the olive oil tasting on the deck by Monica’s Fine Foods. The product was great and the packaging was unique.
