Wine, Food & A Great Cause!
Last night, September 18, 2011 was the annual Lake County Wine Alliance Auction. Every year the Wine Alliance hold a wine and food pairing, which includes an auction to raise money for Lake County service agencies.
This year the event was held at Ceago Estates, a beautiful property created and owned by the Jim Fetzer family. The event was spread out throughout, including the courtyard, therefore, while enjoying the food and wine pairings, you could also enjoy the architecture and views.

Some of the images I captured (on my Samsung Droid camera phone) included this one of Jed Steele of Steele Wines & Myron Holdenreid of Wildhurst Winery. Marilyn Holdenreid (Myron’s wife) told me that Myron and Jed started their wineries at the same time and Jed was the consulting winemaker to Myron in 1997. Since they have both grown to be successful wineries in their own right. The image I did miss is one of Myron and Marilyn together since it was their 50th wedding anniversary.

Part of the event is for several wineries to donate wine and from that wine a cuvee’ is made. The winemaker for the cuvee’ this year was Barney Fetzer, son of Jim Fetzer.
Also in attendance this year was Senator Mike Thompson. Senator Thompson owns a vineyard in Lake County. Also in this image is Rob Roumiguiere, an active member to of the Lake County wine community and a member of the Wine Alliance board.
Enjoy some more images from the event. I have to say, I’m pretty proud of my little cell phone camera.
